Robert J. Kinney Sr.

WALPOLE — Robert J. Kinney Sr., of Angier Road in Walpole, died Sunday, July 22, 2012, at Cheshire Medical Center in Keene. Robert was born Sept. 13, 1944, in Bellows Falls, the son of James “Jake” and Madeline (French) Kinney. He grew up in Saxtons River, where he attended school and was a 1963 graduate of the Bellows Falls High School. After school, he served as a jet mechanic in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. Following his service, he worked for Hicks Machine in Walpole.

Robert was a 47-year member of the Pierce Lawton American Legion and the Loyal Order of Moose, both of Bellows Falls. He was also a former member of the Walpole Fire and Rescue.

Robert is survived by his son, Robert Jr. of Charlestown; his daughter, Heather Cutrara of Oxford, Pa.; one brother, David of Athens, Vt.; one sister, Lydia Benson of Bellows Falls; seven grandchildren, Maria Cutrara of Alaska, Gerard Cutrara of Fort Stewart, Ga., Jennifer Smith of Springfield, Cody Kinney of Charlestown, Dwight Kinney of Camp Pendleton, Calif., Amber Kinney of Claremont and Morgan Kinney of Springfield; and two great-grandsons, Tristan and Nicholas.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, in the Saxtons River Cemetery in Saxtons River.

Fenton and Hennessey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
