Walter Koledo

CLAREMONT — On Friday, July 27, 2012, Walter Koledo of Claremont, passed from this earth to live eternally in great peace and joy with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Walter’s name means “strong protector” and throughout his life he walked out his name by defending, guiding and protecting his wife of 69 years and his family.

Walter was a very wise man and as gentle as a dove. There was not a person that he met that he did not have a kind word for. It was not unusual for Walter to put a smile on the face of everyone that he encountered wherever his travels took him throughout the day. The twinkle in his eye and his gentle spirit were always there to provide a word of encouragement to all who crossed his path. Walter faced several difficult obstacles in his life but his hope always shined forth. Walter always said that the key to life was to take it “one day at a time” and that things would always work out.

Greatly remembered were all the months when he and his wife, Anna, would sit on the couch together every night for one hour, reading the Bible. Year after year, they read the Bible until it finally had to be duct-taped together by Walter. Because of his faithfulness, God granted Walter a long and rich life — rich not in material things, but rich in the fruits of the spirit: love, joy, peace, faith, hope, kindness and long-suffering.

We will greatly miss you, Walter, but our comfort comes from knowing that we will see you again in God’s eternal kingdom. Well done, thou good and faithful servant of the Most High God.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Roy Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
