Edmund W. Fluette

FRANCONIA, N.H. — Edmund W. Fluette, 85, formerly of Bethlehem, N.H., and Claremont, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at the Lafayette Center in Franconia, N.H., following a period of failing health. He was born Nov. 2, 1927, in Claremont, the son of Wilfred and Aloiska (Vincent) Fluette and had been a longtime Claremont resident. He was 16 when he started working for the family business, Fluette Oil Company as a burner technician and delivery driver. Following the sale of the business, he worked for Limoges Oil and later worked for Johnson Oil Company and was in the oil business for 47 years.

He enjoyed Harley-Davidson motorcycles and being around his dogs.

Members of his family include two daughters, Dorinne Bailey and her husband, Peter, of Quechee, Vt., and Rachel Raymond of Claremont; three sons, Raymond Fluette and his wife, April, of Londonderry, N.H., Laurier Fluette and his wife, Cindy of Claremont and Brian Fluette of Claremont; seven grandchildren, Scott Raymond, Tyler Raymond, Sam Bailey, Eric Fluette, Jennifer Fluette, Megan Fluette and Kyle Fluette. He was predeceased by his parents; and a grandson, Nicholas Bailey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, at St. Mary’s Church, with the Rev. Shawn M. Therrien, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Roy Funeral Home, 93 Sullivan St., in Claremont from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
