Windsor's Comstock headlines All-Eagle Girls Track & Field team
Katey Comstock has built quite an impressive resume during her high school career. The recent Windsor grad competed in basketball, bowling, and indoor and outdoor track and field. And even though she’s enjoyed some success in each discipline, Comstock truly shines during the spring sports season.
Comstock garnered her second consecutive VPA Division 2 “triple crown of throwing” when she won the shot put, discus and javelin at the outdoor state championships in May.
She would also win the New England qualifier in the shot and disc, and capture a discus championship at the New England championships, along with a fifth in shot put. Those impressive accomplishments make her the clear choice as the Eagle Times Outdoor Track & Field Female Athlete of the Year.
Inclusive in her impressive senior year at Windsor were Comstock’s repeat performance as the indoor track and field state champ in the shot put, and she added a weight throw title. She also carried the high season average for the Yellow Jackets bowling team as it won the state championship and she was a starter on the playoff-bound basketball team.
It should be noted that Bellows Falls broke a 15-year championship drought when it claimed the D-3 team title.
