2,066-pound pumpkin breaks record for state's largest ever

DEERFIELD, N.H. — A Boscawen man has broken a New Hampshire record for the state's largest pumpkin at the Deerfield Fair.
WMUR-TV reports Steve Geddes' 2,066-pound gourd is now officially recognized as the largest pumpkin ever grown in the Granite State.
Geddes' pumpkin beat all other entrants in the fair's Super Pumpkin and Squash Weigh-Off on Thursday night. The massive pumpkin still falls 250 pounds short of the current world record.
Geddes held the world record for largest pumpkin in 2012.
The 140th Deerfield Fair kicked off on Thursday and runs through Sunday.
