Chester man arrested after police pursuit

Nico Spaulding, 35, was arrested and charged with attempting to elude, negligent operation and violation of conditions after leading state police on a chase for several miles before pulling over and surrendering himself.

According to Vermont State Police, Spaulding was traveling "in excess of the 50 mph speed limit" on Route 103 in Rockingham at about 10:13 p.m. When police attempted to pull him over, Spaulding tried to elude police for several miles before pulling over and surrendering on Parker Hill Road in Springfield.

Spaulding was arrested and transported to the Westminster State Police Barracks, and is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division on March 28 to answer charges relating to the pursuit.
