A weekend of exploration at the Walpole Unitarian Church
WALPOLE — Join members and friends of the Walpole Unitarian Church for three days of spiritual exploration and contemplation led by Rev. Kitsy Winthrop, Feb. 17 to 19. Topics range from climate change, transitions, race relations, and there is time scheduled at all events for thoughtful discussion.
The weekend will start with a movie on Friday, continue with topical discussions on Saturday, and culminate with the service. “The Valentine Phantom Strikes Again,” Sunday, at 10 a.m. at the church, locate on the corner of Main and Union streets.
The monthly Friday evening film “Symphony of the Soil,” will be shown at 7 p.m., followed by discussion led by Rev. Winthrop. Light refreshments will be served. "Filmed on four continents, featuring esteemed scientists and working farmers and ranchers, Symphony of the Soil is an intriguing presentation that highlights possibilities of healthy soil creating healthy plants creating healthy humans living on a healthy planet." You can view the trailer for the movie here: http://www.symphonyofthesoil.com.
On Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at Hastings, join us for a discussion, “Where do we go from here?” that will provide a safe place to express our feelings with others about the current times in which we are living. “Can we balance awareness without drowning in it,” Winthrop asks. “How do we get through these times in the most effective way?”
Bring along a bag lunch if you would like to stay a bit longer to continue the discussion. Coffee will be provided.
The weekend winds down with the Valentine holiday sermon. Refreshments and lively conversation follow.
Come join us for any or all events. Our welcoming congregation embraces spiritual diversity, compassion, social justice and love for each other and the web of life.
