Plow truck driver arrested for DWI
ALSTEAD — A state-contracted plow truck driver clearing was arrested Saturday after striking a bridge and dislodging a portion of the truck's plow blade.
Lewis Elliott, 45, of South Acworth, was arrested for aggravated driving while intoxicated after driving a plow truck into a bridge in Alstead, dislodging a portion of the plow from the truck.
New Hampshire State Police received a report at about 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 from a motorist in Alstead that a commercial plow truck had struck a bridge on Route 123 in Alstead, resulting in the "wing" plow blade being dislodged from the truck. It was reported that the truck continued on without stopping.
State Trooper Kaila Merchant responded located the plow truck on Route 123 in Walpole, and found that Elliott was a commercial contractor who was assisting New Hampshire Department of Transportation with snow removal operations.
There were no injuries or damage to property aside from the truck, according to police.
