Houghton named director of provider practices at MAHHC
WINDSOR — Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) has appointed Hannah Houghton to the position of director of provider practices. In this role, Houghton will have overall practice management responsibility for both surgical and primary care practices at MAHHC. Those responsibilities include personnel management, staff workflow, quality improvement projects, clinical function monitoring, budgeting and recruitment efforts, as well as clinic space management and improvements.
For the last five years, Houghton has worked as specialties practice manager at the hospital. In her new role, she will focus on integrating and coordinating MAHHC practice operations, as the hospital continues to build a comprehensive medical home for patients in the community.
“Hannah brings to this position a unique combination of skills and dedication to serving the patients and families here at Mt. Ascutney,” said Paul Calandrella, chief operating officer at MAHHC. “She is committed to helping us increase consistency in practice, and efficiency in utilization of resources.”
Joseph Perras, MD, chief executive officer of MAHHC, also praised Houghton’s management experience. “Hannah knows our systems and our culture. She is highly organized, efficient and committed to helping us achieve our goal of providing the best possible patient experience at MAHHC. I am very pleased that she has accepted the director of provider practices position.”
Prior to joining MAHHC in 2012, Houghton was the practice manager at Associates in Surgery and Gastroenterology in Claremont. She is a 2002 graduate of The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and lives in New London.
