Police arrest man on drug charges

CLAREMONT — Jordan Berry, 24, of Claremont, was arrested Tuesday for possession of klonopin, possession of methamphetamine and possession of suboxone with intent to distribute.

Claremont Police executed a search warrant at 47 Myrtle St., Apartment 3 around noon Tuesday in response to a report of stolen jewelry. After a search of the apartment, the missing jewelry in question was recovered along with drug related items, according to a press release from Claremont Police

Although no arrests have been made in connection with the stolen jewelry, Berry, who police said was a guest at the apartment, was searched.

Police found Berry to be in possession of Klonopin — a type of sedative used to treat seizures and anxiety — methamphetamine and Suboxone, a highly-addictive narcotic used as a pain reliever and to treat addictions to other narcotics. Berry was arrested for possession of the drugs — all of which are Class B felony-level offenses.

Berry was held on violation of probation. No bail has been set on the drug charges.

A probable cause hearing will be held May 25 at 1 p.m. at the Claremont District Court.

Claremont Police say that the case is still under investigation, and further arrests will be made. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Claremont Police at (603) 542-9538 or at their tip line at (603) 542-7026.
