NEWPORT — The following cases were heard in Newport Circuit Court during the week ending Feb. 22:

Nicholas Ayotte, 22, 86 Paradise Road, Newport, failed to appear to answer a charge of criminal threatening, combat, Dec. 30 in Newport and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.

Joshua Partlow, 24, 557 Maple St., Newport, failed to appear to answer charges of resisting arrest/detention and loitering or prowling Sept. 7 in Newport and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.

Michael B. Ross, 55, 9 Forty Acres Road, New London, pleased innocent to domestic violence Dec. 7 in New London and the charge was placed on file without a finding for one year on good behavior.

Allen L. Bugbee. 49, 388 Sugar River Drive, Claremont, pleaded innocent to a non-inspection charge Oct. 14 in Goshen, an administrative finding of guilty as handed down and he was fined $60.

Kaleb Ferland, 28, 136 Stone Bridge Road, Wilmot, pleaded innocent to a charge of criminal mischief Sept 29 in New London, was found guilty and ordered to make restitution in the amount of $158 to the New London Police Department. A charge of breach of bail was withdrawn. He pleaded guilty to simple assault and was sentenced to six months in the Sullivan County House of Corrections, suspended for two years on good behavior. Charges of criminal trespass and reckless conduct were withdrawn.

Matthew C. Sullivan, 42, 68 Sleeper Road, Sunapee, pleaded guilty to driving after revocation/suspension Nov. 15 in Newport, was fined $500, suspended for one year and sentenced to seven days in the HOC to be served commencing March 16. A charge of Driving While Intoxicated (second offense) was withdrawn. He pleaded guilty to disobeying an officer and was fined $500. Sullivan also pleaded guilty to resisting arrest/detention and was sentenced to 270 days in the HOC, suspended to Aug. 18, 2021. Sullivan was also sentenced to 97 days in the HOC when a previous guilty plea on a charge of simple assault, physical contact, was brought forward for sentencing. The HOC sentence is scheduled to commence March 16.

John A. Cannon, 61, 13 Sawyer Lane, New London, pleaded innocent to disorderly conduct and in New London and was found innocent.

Laren E. Hacker, 35, 49 Maple St., Newport, pleaded no contest to a non-inspection charge Oct. 22 in Newport, was found guilty and fined $74.40.

Logan A. Dawson, 23, 14 Old Province Road, Goshen, pleaded innocent to speeding 80 mph in a 65 mph zone on Interstate 89 in Grantham, an administrative finding of guilty was handed down and he was fined $150.

Chelsea E. Chapman, 28, 33 Whipple Road, Apartment 22, Newport, pleaded innocent to use of an electronic device while driving, an administrative finding of guilty was handed down and she was fined $100.

Matthew W. Pickering, 24, 165 South Main St., Apartment 8, Newport, failed to appear to answer a charge of abandoning a vehicle in Newport.

Damien Sevene, 34, 141 Hanover St., Claremont, failed to appear to answer charges of disobeying a police officer and driving after revocation/suspension Jan. 5, 2019 in Newport and a bench e warrant was issued for his arrest.

Kathleen E. Hoehn, 48 Fairway Drive, Grantham, pleaded no contest to speeding 75 mph Sept. 21 in New London and was fined $124.

A charge of driving or operating under the influence of drugs or liquor against Nathan P. Monroe, 21, 172 Kearsarge Mountain Road, Warner July 1 in New London was amended to reckless operation.. He was fined $1,000 with $500 suspended and his license was revoked for 60 days. He pleaded guilty to transportation of alcoholic beverages and was fined $150. A charge of misused or failure to display plates was withdrawn.

A charge of simple assault, domestic violence Nov. 13 in New London was amended to simple assault against Mary B. Barnes, 72, 747 Lake Shore Drive, New London, and she was fined $250.

Ann A. Desharnais, 35, 41 Middle St., Newport, pleaded guilty to operating without a valid license Dec. 11 in Newport and was fined $100.
