NEWPORT — The following cases were heard in Newport Circuit Court during the week ending Feb. 8:

Matthew E. Cross, 33, 39 Pine Ave., Claremont, pleaded guilty to theft Oct. 30 and was sentenced to 180 days in the Sullivan County House of Corrections with credit given for 21 days of pretrial confinement and the remaining 159 days suspended. He was also ordered to make restitution of $250 to the victim. He pleaded innocent to stalking and violation of a protective order and both cases were placed on file without findings for one year on good behavior.

Brian L. King, 55, 738 Bradford Road, Newport, pleaded guilty to stalking Dec. 24 in Newport and was sentenced to 12 months at the HOC, all suspended for three years on good behavior. He pleaded guilty to criminal threatening Dec. 23 in Lempster and was sentenced to 12 months in the HOC, with pretrial credit of 43 days and six months suspended.

Justin W. Hamilton, 23, 12 Amelia Drive, Newport, pleaded guilty to Driving Under the Influence, was fined $500 and his license revoked for 12 months. A charge of DUI—Impairment was dismissed. A charge of DUI—Aggravated, was withdrawn.

Kyle Bragg, 29, 155 North Main St., Apartment 1, Newport, pleaded guilty to criminal threatening—conduct, was fined $200 and sentenced to 30 days in the HOC, suspended. He pleaded innocent to simple assault, physical contact and the charge was placed on file without a finding.

John J. Fitzgerald, 51, 309 Bradford Road, Newport, pleaded guilty to breach of bail July 13 at Newport and was sentenced to five days in the HOC.

Paul D. Donnellan, 56, 51 Shore Road, Grantham, pleaded guilty to driving after revocation/suspension and was fined $500.

A charge of unlawful possession (minor in possession of alcohol), Dec. 21 in Newbury was withdrawn. He was ordered to participate in the third millennium class within 120 days.

David C. Lorden, 46, 194 Village Road, Wilmot, pleaded guilty to license expired Dec. 28 in Wilmot and was fined $100.

Richard B. Williams, 78, 516 Spencer Hollow Road, Springfield, Vt., pleaded guilty to conduct after an accident at the Park and Ride Oct. 21 in New London and was fined $200.

Derrick T. Schneider, 32, 46 Brown Hill Road, Springfield, Vt., pleaded guilty to resisting arrest Dec. 28 at Newbury and was fined $1,000 with $500 suspended for one year on good behavior. He pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and the charge was placed on file without a finding. A charge of criminal mischief at Lakewood Manor Road, Newbury, was withdrawn.

Edward T. Clay, 32, 1903 Route 114, North Sutton, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct Dec. 14, 2018 at the Park and Ride in New London, was fined $500 with $400 suspended for one year on good behavior.

Nadine M. Coates, 34, 43 Parkview St., Newport, pleaded guilty to counterfeit, unauthorized or forged stickers amended to uninspected vehicle Dec. 24 in New London and was fined $60.
