NEWPORT — The following cases were heard in Newport Circuit Court during the week ending Sept. 28:

Christian A. Rodriguez Mercado, 28, 2334 Main St., Springfield, N.H., pleaded guilty to domestic assault and was sentenced to 30 days in the Sullivan County House of Corrections, suspended for 30 days. He also pleaded guilty to resisting arrest/detention and was sentenced to 90 days at the HOC, suspended for one year on good behavior. He was ordered to make restitution in the amount of $35 to New Hampshire State Police. A charge of criminal mischief was withdrawn. Two charges of simple assault, physical contact were withdrawn.

Annmarie A. Denneen, 28, 46B Walnut St., Claremont, pleaded innocent to non-inspection July 2 at Newport, was found guilty and fined $60.

Three charges against Benjamin B. Dougherty, 37, 24 Monument Place, Wilmot, on June 11 at Wilmot were withdrawn. Two were for simple assault, physical contact and the third was for false imprisonment.

Jason W. Stadler, 48, 35 Woodland Trace, New London, pleaded no contest to speeding 75 mph in a 65 mph zone July 3 in Grantham, was found guilty and fined $124.

Michael J. Rodriguez, 27 Prospect Hill Road, Sunapee, pleaded guilty to crossing a median/divided highway/breakdown lane June 15 in Springfield and was fined $62.

Ashley E. Smith, 26, 37 Pillsbury Lane, Danbury, pleaded guilty to tampering with public records Aug. 17 at Newport, and was fined $1,000, suspended for one year on good behavior. She pleaded guilty to a second charge of tampering with public records April 27 in Newport and was fined $1,000, suspended for one year on good behavior. She pleaded guilty to unsworn falsification Aug. 17 at Newport and was fined $1,000 with $750 suspended.

Dale E. West, 45, 18 Citizen St., Claremont, pleaded guilty to acts prohibited, a controlled drug illegally kept in a motor vehicle May 29, 2017 in Newport and was sentenced to 12 months in the HOC, all suspended for two years and fined $500. Charges of possession of controlled substances and possession of a controlled substance were withdrawn.

Douglas C. Smith, 30, 91 French Hill Road, Grafton, pleaded guilty to unsworn falsification April 11 at Newport and was fined $1,000 with $750 suspended for one year on good behavior. He pleaded guilty to tampering with public records April 18 at Newport and was fined $1,000, suspended for one year on good behavior. He pleaded guilty to tampering with public records on July 13 at Newport and was fined $1,000, suspended for one year on good behavior.

Amanda L. Smith, 23, 8 Swan St., Newport, pleaded innocent to domestic violence May 26 at Sunapee and the charge was placed on file without a finding for one year on good behavior.
