The new weather week started out on the cooler side on Wednesday, July 31, signaling the end of the most recent head wave. The cooler air with much lower humidity provided a pleasant backdrop for early risers heading off to work Thursday morning.

The weather was perfect Saturday for three area events, New London Hospital Day, the start of the Craftsmen's Fair at Mount Sunapee Resort and Old Home Day in Unity. At this point (Sunday) it looks like the first half of the week will be full of sunshine.

Cooler morning temperatures moved into the area on Monday and Tuesday mornings. For some, it was jacket weather once again and that was most welcome after the recent muggy heat blasts that hung out for a few days.

Perhaps the best weather news was the prediction of rain during the day on Wednesday and Thursday. That was most welcome.
