NEWPORT — A popular Newport tradition returns to the stage of the Newport Opera House at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21.

The Annual Community Talent Show will once again celebrate the showmanship of residents in the greater Lake Sunapee Region. All age groups are welcome to be center stage and sparkle in the spotlight.

Once all of the acts auditioned earlier this week, a running order was established and a dress rehearsal will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19, in the Opera House.

Participants will be required to attend this rehearsal and must perform exactly what they will be performing on Saturday evening. Costumes will be required at this time so the producers can be sure that they are appropriate for the performance.

Tickets for the show are $5 per person and may be purchased on-line at or at the door the evening of the performance. There is no reserved seating and the doors to the auditorium will open at 6:30 p.m.

Handicapped access to the Newport Opera House is available by using the ramp at the rear of the building or the elevator located through the glass doors of the Sullivan County Courthouse to the left of the Main Street entrance of the Opera House.

Mark Sept. 21st on your calendar and make plans to cheer on your talented friends and neighbors in the historic Newport Opera House.
