NEWPORT — The following indictments were handed up by a Sullivan County Superior Court Grand Jury when it convened on Aug. 21:

Brandon Aries. 36, of or formerly of First Step Recovery, 1048 North Ave., Burlington, Vt., was charged on eight separate indictments for sale of controlled drugs in a school zone. All of the alleged charges occurred in 2018.

Sale of controlled drug, Heroin, subsequent offense, May 21, within 1,000 feet of Claremont Middle School.

Sale of controlled drug, Heroin, subsequent offense, May 21, within 1,000 feet of Claremont Middle School.

Sale of controlled drug, Fontanel, subsequent offense, May 21, within 1,000 feet of Claremont Middle School.

Sale of controlled drug, Fontanel, subsequent offense, June 11, within 1,000 feet of Claremont Middle School.

Sale of controlled drug, Heroin, subsequent offense, June 11, within 1,000 feet of Claremont Middle School.

Alan Welch, 35, 42 Elm St., Claremont, falsifying physical evidence, accomplice, between July 13 and 15 at Claremont.

Joshua Wilson, 25, 371 Meriden Road, Lebanon, habitual offender, July 12 at Claremont.

Kassidy Briere, 21, 51 South St., Claremont, falsifying physical evidence, conspiracy, May 13 at Claremont.

Ryan K. Lacasse, 43, 124 Pearl St., Claremont, convicted felons, July 20 at Claremont.

Ronald Morissette, 50, 27 Ponderosa Park, Charlestown, seven charges of financial exploitation of an elderly, disabled or impaired adult at Charlestown, all in 2017. They include two on June 16; one between April 24 and May 11; two on April 28, and two on May 18.

Paris Whiting, 19, 806 John Stark Highway, Newport, two counts of operation after certification as a habitual offender July 25 at Grantham and Aug. 6 at Newport.

Kenneth Rickard, 80, of or formerly of103 County Farm Road, Unity, first degree assault July 1 at Newport.

Eric Richmond, 29, 14 Ash St., Newport, burglary, June 26 at Newport
