NEWPORT — The Newport Sunflower Festival on Saturday might get Newport into the Guinness Book of World Records if at least 250 people participate to make flower bouquets simultaneously.

The festival opens at 10 a.m. with registration starting at 11 a.m. and the actual attempt at 11:30 a.m.

Two food trucks will be located at the Newport Common during the event along with lots of crafters, free painting and Laura Boyce from the Morning Buzz.

In the end, everyone gets to take home their bouquets when they are done.
