The group gathered in silence as Middle High School Principal Susan Schroeter led the Pledge of Allegiance followed by singing of The Star Spangled Banner by Mia Caccavaro, Jenna Maheu, Kirsten Hurd and Eliza Bates.

Readings were recited by Abigail Carmichael, “We Were Eight;” Emmah O’Connor, “We’re Still Standing;” Bryce Bahara, “I Stare in Total Disbelief; Landin Mulvey, “The Day the Towers Fell,” and Blake Schenk, “My Generations.”

“This Land is Your Land” by Woody Guthrie was sung by the students as was God Bless the USA by Lee Greenwood.

When the ceremony ended the students marched quietly back into their classrooms.
