CONCORD — Sports fans in New Hampshire wagered more than $2.31 million on this year’s Super Bowl, stamping an exclamation point on the New Hampshire Lottery’s first month of sports betting.

More than 34,800 users have registered in New Hampshire and wagered more than $20.8 million since the New Hampshire Lottery and DraftKings launched mobile and online sports betting Monday, Dec. 30, 2019.

“The Super Bowl was the perfect culmination to the first month of sports betting in New Hampshire. The $2.31 million in total Super Bowl wagers speaks directly to why I pushed so hard to get this up and running in time for the NFL playoffs,” said Governor Chris Sununu. “In just over one month, we have positioned ourselves as an industry leader and New England’s go-to destination for sports betting. Next up: March Madness!”

In its first month, sports betting in New Hampshire generated more than $1.2 million in net profit in support of education in New Hampshire.

“When we launched sports betting just over a month ago, we were introducing our players to a completely new way to win. Clearly, it has not taken long for sports fans to embrace the excitement of sports betting here in the Granite State,” said Charlie McIntyre, executive director, New Hampshire Lottery.

“We are extremely pleased with the results from our first Super Bowl and our first month overall of sports betting, and we look forward to continuing to build on this success as we engage more and more players.”

New Hampshire residents can download the DraftKings Sportsbook app to place wagers through DraftKings, which is the exclusive digital operator in New Hampshire.

The DraftKings Sportsbook app looks the same in all states where sports betting is legal. New Hampshire state laws do not allow wagers to be placed on college teams from the state or college games taking place within state lines. Sports fans can place bets on the DraftKings Sportsbook app via iOS and Android or online at
