SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — The Springfield Area Parent Child Center will be hosting the “Fit ‘n Fun Duck Run” featuring wellness and fun activities for all ages on July 20 (Rain date is July 21) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Come have lunch from one of the food trucks, enjoy the obstacle course, bounce house, rock wall, dunk tank, face painting, yoga and dance class trials, informational booths, silent auction, and more. There is sure to be something for everyone at the Fit ‘n Fun Duck Run. Admission is free! Please park at KJ’s Place. The Springfield Area Parent Child Center is located at 6 Main St. in North Springfield, Vermont.
The “Duck Run” part of the event will begin at 11:30 a.m. when hundreds of adorable rubber duckies dive into the Black River and race to the finish line. The first duck to cross the finish line wins its sponsor $300 cash, 2nd place is $150, and 3rd place is $75. Everyone can sponsor rubber ducks in advance for $5 each at the Springfield Area Parent Child Center, The Edgar May Health and Recreation Center, or online at www.sapcc-vt.org. Rubber ducks can be sponsored in advance until July 18, and then at the door the morning of the event. The more duckies you sponsor, the greater your chances of winning!
2019 marks the second year of a joint collaboration between the Edgar May Health and Recreation Center and the Springfield Area Parent Child Center to provide health and wellness activities to families in southeastern Vermont and New Hampshire border towns. Money raised from the Fit ‘n Fun Duck Run will help these organizations continue to offer these wonderful youth and family activities.
