CONCORD, NH – The Community College System of New Hampshire will honor Paul J. Holloway with the prestigious Walter R. Peterson Award for Education and Public Service on September 19 at Nashua Community College.

Holloway is a leader in the philanthropic, business and education sectors across the state. His service, advocacy and influence has benefitted countless charitable endeavors over several decades. He and his wife, Anna Grace, have created opportunities for students to succeed, entrepreneurs to thrive and have been committed to building stronger communities across the state. They have been dedicated to improving the lives of children, youth and families through the Little Harbour Charitable Foundation. At the Community College System of New Hampshire, Holloway served for eight years as chair of the board of trustees, and remains on the board providing stewardship, oversight and advocacy for the seven-college system.

“We are honored to have this opportunity to recognize Paul Holloway’s tremendous public service and support of New Hampshire’s colleges and universities. He and his wife, Anna Grace, have made a profound impact on the lives of New Hampshire college students across the state,” said CCSNH Chancellor Ross Gittell. “We are delighted to host this celebration of Paul’s support and advocacy for New Hampshire’s college students, alongside the many other causes he has championed and supported. Funds raised for this event will continue to support deserving students who will go on to become the backbone of our workforce and communities.”

The Water R. Peterson Award recognizes individuals who reflect the late Governor’s values, his legacy of public service and commitment to higher education. Peterson served as the Governor of New Hampshire from 1969 to 1973 and remained a strong supporter of higher education throughout his life, including serving as a trustee of the Community College System of New Hampshire.

Past recipients include The Honorable John Lynch, The Honorable Jeanne Shaheen, Ms. Barbara Couch of Hypertherm, and Mr. Alex Ray of The Common Man.

Business, civic and political leaders, and supporters of New Hampshire’s Community Colleges will celebrate Holloway on September 19 at 5:30 p.m. at Nashua Community College. The Community College System of NH consists of seven colleges, offering associate degree and certificate programs, professional training, transfer pathways to four-year degrees, and dual-credit partnerships with NH high schools. The System’s colleges include Great Bay Community College in Portsmouth and Rochester; Lakes Region Community College in Laconia; Manchester Community College; Nashua Community College; NHTI – Concord’s Community College; River Valley Community College in Claremont, Lebanon and Keene; and White Mountains Community College in Berlin, Littleton and North Conway.
