Elizabeth J. Stark CLAREMONT — Elizabeth J. "Bettie" Stark, 86, of 67 Maple Ave., Claremont, died Tuesday evening, Aug. 27, 2019, at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. She was born July 22, 1933, in Bayshore, New York, the daughter of Carmen and Agnes Grella, attended Long Island schools and graduated from Baldwin High School. She spent much of her career in the banking industry. She married Peter Stark in 1954. The couple resided on Long Island, New York, Vermont and most recently, in New Hampshire. They loved to travel by train visiting friends and relatives throughout the country. Bettie was active in the Claremont senior center and several church groups. The family includes her former husband Peter; one daughter Beth Betourney of Claremont; four sons, Stephen Stark and wife Ellen of Staten Island, New York, Peter J. Stark III and wife Connie of Bolingbrook, Illinois, Robert Stark and wife Darla of Smithtown, Long Island, New York, and the youngest son Thomas Stark of Smithtown, Long Island, New York; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Elizabeth will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30, at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad St., Claremont. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. St. Mary’s Church, with Father Shawn Therrien officiating. Burial will follow in the West Claremont burying grounds in Claremont. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations can be made in her name to the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health, in the reference line be sure to put "Patient Services Care Fund (Breast Cancer) Elizabeth Stark."
