Fred J. O'Clair Jr. GOSHEN — Fred J. O'Clair Jr., 61, passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 22, 2021. He was born on Dec. 17, 1959, in Newport, New Hampshire, to the late Fred O'Clair and Patrcia (Coburn) Waterman. Fred spent most of his life in Newport and Goshen. He was a logger before working at LaValley Building Supply for more than 40 years. He enjoyed woodworking, building chairs and windmills. He was good with his hands and enjoyed being outdoors. Fred loved snowmobiling and was an avid Patriots fan. Family was extremely important to Fred. He loved spending time with them and would do anything for his grandchildren. Fred was predeceased by his parents and by his wife of 42 years, Cynthia O'Clair, in 2020. Surviving family members include his children, Christina Asanowicz of North Sutton and Jason Asanowicz and his wife, Michelle, of Acworth; siblings, Perl O'Clair, Melanie O'Grady and Marshall Waterman; grandchildren, Olivia Hamilton, Maddie Thorp and Garrett Asanowicz; and many other extended family members and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the Twinridge Mountaineers Snowmobile Club or to the funeral home to assist with expenses. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
