Gary L. Freeman CHARLESTOWN — Gary L. Freeman, 68, of Charlestown, passed away peacefully on Sept. 17, 2019. He was born on Dec. 27, 1950, in California, son of Virginia Gibson. Gary is survived by the community that he made home, Charlestown. He was a familiar face in town, always saying hello or lending a hand if needed. He took pride in the many years of work for the Unitarian South Parish Church and Dr. George Grabe. Gary had an amazing ability to formulate puns and he took much pleasure at entertaining his friends with his creativity and crafts. A yearly highlight for him was Charlestown Yard Sale Day, giving a hand at the Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd and the Historical Society. Gary was very passionate about volunteering at the Historical Society throughout the year. Gary was a sweet and kind man. His cheerful voice and friendly smile will be missed in our small town. A graveside service will be held Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019, at 2 p.m. in the Brownsville Cemetery, Brownsville, Vermont. Bishop Marsh assisted by Fr. Bennett and Fr Moody, will officiate. Donations are being accepted to have a memorial plaque made and placed in Charlestown. Donation checks can be sent to Jeff Lessels, P.O. Box 834, Charlestown, NH 03603.
