Kathie J. Stackpole NEWPORT — Kathie J. Stackpole, 67, passed away at Sullivan County Nursing Home on Feb. 7, 2020, after a period of declining health. She was born on Oct. 19, 1952, in Claremont, New Hampshire, to Albert Fraser Sr. and Beverly (Blish) Fraser. Kathie spent her life taking care of children, both her own and at Newport preschools. She loved reading and quilting. Kathie was very active at her church, singing in the choir and volunteering her time in so many ways, including cooking the roast beef dinners for more than 30 years. Surviving family include her husband, Nelson Stackpole of Newport; sons, Christopher Stackpole and wife Cori, and Timothy Stackpole, all of Newport; brothers, Albert Fraser Jr. and Ralph Dyke; sisters, Gail Fraser and Amy Philbrook; and grandchildren, Danyel Stackpole, Kelcie Eaton, Christyan Pico and Kelsey Brodeur. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020, at 11 a.m. at the Newport United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Newport United Methodist Church on Sunday, April 5, 2020, at 3 p.m. Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
