Shirley A. Jennings GOSHEN — Shirley A. Jennings, 82, of Lear Hill Road, died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021, surrounded by her children at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire. She was born in Unity, New Hampshire, on July 5, 1939, the daughter of Fred and Josephine (Spaulding) Currier. Shirley had a fulltime job as a stay-at-home mom and her family was always her number one priority. Matriarch of the family, she was always surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. She loved old time country music and long nights of karaoke with her family. Shirley knew all of the secret fishing spots and was the best fisherman in the family. Any kind of cookout or gathering that would include her family was the highlight of her life. Whether it was playing cards, talking on the porch, or watching the grandchildren playing, she loved it all and was loved by all. She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin L. Jennings Jr. (April 3, 1938-Nov. 23, 1999), and they were married on Nov. 24, 1956. She was also predeceased by her parents; great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Benson Morin; and all of her siblings, Floyd Currier, James Currier, Carol Hazelton, Myrtle Cote, Evelyn Reeves, Fred Currier Jr., Densmore Currier, Lorraine Willis, Clyde Currier and Stanley Currier Sr. Shirley is survived by five children and their spouses, Deborah (Robert) Gannon, of Goshen, New Hampshire, Edwin L. (Carolyn) Jennings III, of Newport, New Hampshire, Jean (Wilfred) Reney, of Grantham, New Hampshire, Tina (Fred) Shampney, of Springfield, New Hampshire, Sherry (Todd Sr.) Morin, of Newport, New Hampshire; grandchildren, Ronald (Kelley) Clough Jr., of California, Sherry Waters (Kirk Dustin), of Goshen, New Hampshire, Eugene (Christie) Benoit Jr., of Newport, New Hampshire, Jeremy (Samantha) Reney, of Grantham, New Hampshire, Aaron (Tiffany) Reney, of Enfield, New Hampshire, Edwin (Krystle) Hodge, of Newport, New Hampshire, Amanda Hodge (Patrick McNamara), of Newport, New Hampshire, David (Sara) Hodge, of Canaan, New Hampshire, Todd (Kaitlyn) Morin Jr., of Langdon, New Hampshire, Katie Shampney (Lee Parry Jr.), of Claremont, New Hampshire, and Haley Morin (William Aufranc), of New London, New Hampshire; great-grandchildren, Andrew Benoit, Jazmyn McNamara, Elijah Cole, Greyson Parry, Isabelle and Alexis Reney, Paige and Olivia Reney, Alijah, Leah and Sabrina Hodge, Evah, Ayden and Layla Hodge, Taylor and Paisley Morin; her in-laws, Audrey Shepard, Joe Jennings, Rosemary Heino, George (Betsy) Jennings Sr. and Margaret Currier. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at 11a.m. at the Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main St., Newport, New Hampshire, and burial will follow in the East Unity Cemetery, Unity, New Hampshire. Spread those glorious wings and fly high, beautiful Mama!
