CLAREMONT — William George "Bill" Oliver, 63, of Claremont, passed away on Nov. 1, 2019, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, after a period of failing health. He was born in Claremont on Jan. 18, 1956, the son of George H. and Mary E. (Thibault) Oliver. He was a member of the American Legion Post 29, and proud to be a veteran. He had served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed camping and fishing, and loved playing cribbage. He also enjoyed cooking on the grill and was considered "The Grill Master." He is survived by his wife Donna (Cook) Oliver; two daughters; three sisters, Liane Westcott, Carolyn Faucher and husband George, all of Claremont, and Joyce Eaton and husband Rick of Newport; one brother Jeffrey Oliver and wife Wendy of Canaan; many nieces and nephews; also, two sisters-in-law, Debra Bunnell of Claremont and Diana Patterson of Navarre, Florida. He was predeceased by his parents; one infant sister Judith Oliver; and his best friend Gary Craig. A celebration of life will be held at the American Legion Post 29 in Claremont on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019, from 1 to 5 p.m. Arrangements are with Stringer Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 146 Broad St., Claremont, NH 03743.
