Windsor’s Travis McAllister drags 3 Poultney players with him after a catch during Windsor’s win on Saturday.

WINDSOR, Vt. — It took the Yellow Jackets two plays to score their first touchdown after bulldozing over the Blue Devils on Saturday.

Logan Worrall raced 32 yards for a score, Kaleb Smith recovered a Poultney fumble, Keegan Batchelder caught a Maison Fortin pass for a touchdown and Ben Gilbert smashed his was to pay-dirt all in a face-paced first quarter that lit up the scoreboard 21-0.

“We worked hard during the off season to be ready for this,” said senior Austin Gilbert as his team improves to 6-0 after another lopsided win. “We play hard and don’t stop until the game is over.”

The Windsor team is run heavy but Fortin can air it out which makes this team very tough to stop. After the visitors put a number on their side of the scoreboard, Worrall and Gilbert answered back with the highlight coming off the legs of Gilbert with a 50-yard kickoff return setting up a 30-yard run by Worall.

“I don’t think anyone expected us to be 6-0 right now,” Worrall said. “But as of Monday we are 0-0 and will get ready for a really good BFA team.”

Fortin would show some arm with a touchdown pass to Travis McAllister before the half and a strike to Gauld to open the third quarter.

“We have to focus and work harder than ever this week,” said Gilbert after the game. “We need to get better and study film to be ready for our next game.”

Brody Osgood would make an impression on the Windsor coaches with an interception and touchdown return of 80 yards for the speedy sophomore to close out scoring on the day.

“We took care of business today but we must be absolutely dialed in going forward,” said Windsor head coach Greg Balch. “BFA is next up and they wiped the field with us in 2019 up there. We must be better and play our best game on Saturday.”

The Yellow Jackets will face their biggest test hosting an undefeated BFA-Fairfax team on Saturday.
